Its worth the extra money in my opinion. I have six or seven different brands and models and if my super sawzall broke I'd buy a new one that day. The reason being is that this sawzall is so much faster than all my others. However, if you only have an occasional use for a sawzall I wouldn't spend the extra money.
I have 4-5 recip saws; a cordless, a sawzall, a supersawzall, a compact sawzall that the handle rotates, and that Ridgid one-hander. They all have their usefullness, but the bigger and nastier jobs always require the Super Saw of the recip saw business.
So, it all depends on what you need it for. For down and dirty demo work, the Super Sawzall wins, hands down.

Seems like it should do at least most of the work for you.
