I need to build a small overhead garage door for a storage space under a porch. The opening is roughly 8 ft. by 5 ft. I would like to purchase fiberglass sections or other material and custom build with side tracks and possibly an electric opener. I am also considering having on manufactured commercially. Any one with suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ken,
A friend of mine did something like this. He found all the materials he needed here in Portland (Oregon) at the Rebuilding Center, the warehouse/lumber yard operated by a group that "deconstructs" old buildings. He found an old overhead garage door that we was able to cut down to the width he needed. On the other hand, he found it best to fabricate new track rather than use salvage.
That may not be an option for you, but it might pay to at least look at the classifieds to see if anyone is getting rid of an old overhead garage door.
The electric opener will add quite a bit of expense, and eat up some of your headroom. Were it me, I'd keep it manual. Electric garage door openers save drivers from getting out and back into their cars, but for a little 5-foot wide door, it seems less necessary. Unless cost is no real obstacle, that is.
*The style of some economy doors (New England Garage door Company comes to mind.) is that of a panel of insulation sandwiched between two layers of alluminum and just cut to lenghth and then a U channel pop riveted onto it to trim the ends. They can make the doors in any width
