I received a Ryobi mitre box stand on Fathers day. I am not certain that it will work with a 12″ slide Makita. Home depot is not ahelp so before I take back a nice gift I thought I would ask I am curious if the stand might tip It says a 12″ saw ok but not a slider
Thank you for any feed back

I use the Ryobi Stand with the 10" Makita Slider. On relatively level surfaces I have not had any tipping problems. If I had to set up on a slopped front yard, I would move to the street but have not needed to.
Do you think it makes a difference 12" vs 10" Thing is I like the stand Which is different for me since I am not Ryobi fan
Thanks again D
It depends on how much the center of gravity shifts to the rear with the 12" slider. Might be worth getting one and mounting the rails to the saw and see how it works. If it didn't work to could take it back.TFB (Bill)

"Do you think it makes a difference 12" vs 10"Yes, the Mak 12" slider is a real ox compared to the 10". The base of the two saws is the same, as far as I can see, just that the 12" has a lot more on top. It's a nice saw, I'd hate to tip mine over backwards on a stand that wasn't up to it. Jeff
I compared the Dewalt and stayed with Ryobi. Set it up and the stand works great with 12" Makita. No way it'll tip on level surface And stand fits in van nicely. Never thought I'd like a Ryobi product but I am happy with it. Thanks to all
Cool beans.TFB (Bill)
The finish carpenters on the last house I worked had a Makita slider on a Ryobi stand.

Thank you so far as I can tell It should work with 12" slider but before I set it up I'll try HD again
Trying HD again after getting advice here is like trying bologna again after tasting fillet minion. --------------------------------------------------------

Thats funny Yeah HD is not holding well here these days. Loews is on other hand doing well. As far as the bologna is concerened maybe alot this winter
Dave,
I use that stand with my 12" Bosch slider, I don't see why it wouldn't work with a Makita. I used a 1/2" plywood panel between the saw and the clamps to get it positioned on the stand right.

I use my Makita SCMS on a DeWalt stand. All it took was two of the tool mounting things which clip to the stand. I would expect that the Ryobi stand has some sort of "universal" attachment devices.
I went a little nuts with my setup and added two drawer boxes and a DC collection hood. My setup stays in the shop 99% of the time so it's pretty much a permanent arrangement. The DC hood is something that I cobbled up last year to see if it would work. It's worked so well that I haven't found the time to make a "better" one. - lol
Wow cool stand. Me I need it for truck. But that is very nice. I have used stand on 2 jobs and no problem. I think I can make a portable tray fro tape maesure Have a great day Do you guys no anything about ductless a/c vs window units?
