In the mechanical room of a new construction house there is some moisture at the bottom pressure treated plated. When I remove the vapor barrier and the insulation and check up against the concrete wall there isn’t any moisture on the wall itself or behind the wall. It is only below the pressure treated plate and in front of it on this one wall. I don’t understand why this is and could really use some help with this. One other concern i have is on one of the other interior walls that has the finished basement on the other side there is a little bit of moisture in one random spot as well which i don’t understand, i included a picture of this as well. Right above this is the gas line for the furnace and when i touched the plug on the bottom side which is threaded on or whatever it is it felt a little wet but it isn’t leaking not sure why there would be moisture on that. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I want to make sure to take care of these moisture issues and don’t want it to lead to something long term.
Thanks,
Joe

How new? It could be residual moisture from rain water that collected in the basement during construction. It is very possible that there was standing water when the walls were built. It can take awhile for the water to evaporate from under the bottom plate. Or it is possible that the basement was pressure washed clean after walls were up. Also, in one of pics I see plastic sheeting on the wall. I would recommend removing that, the moisture will never dry out if you were to have any moisture in that wall.
Basement was poured last summer all that is left now is the finishing work. I got all the water out of the basement after walls were poured. I had this same amount of water on the bottom plate a couple weeks ago and removed the insulation and looked into it and didn’t see any water on the backside on the concrete wall so I figured maybe one of the subs dumped water or spilled something right by the sump pit which is right next to it and it splashed up against this bottom plate but now after seeing it again yesterday I think there is something else going on.
What’s the WH mean on the plate? Water heater?
Do you have a sump pump in your sump pit? Is the pump working? Maybe the pit is filling and over flowing water.
