Hi guy’s
My wife and I run a small remodeling business/ home inspection. She’s also a Realtor. I’m in the market for a moisture meter.I’ve been getting by. But I feel I really need to buy one. There are so many to chose from, it’s a bit over whelming. I don’t mind pins, where I’ll stick them nobody will see. (under the crawl space)just to clarify.
I’d like to stay around 200-250. Any suggestions?

what's the name of the cheapest tool place?
sells Chicago tools & such
bought one there for $ 17 at most & it is within one or two degrees of my floor man's $ 170 model
it is a pin model & we tried many a sample
I dunno John, would hate to think my certified home inspector was using a chinese knockoff "tool" to take a reading.A Great Place for Information, Comraderie, and a Sucker Punch.
Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

Yea, I don't know about that place. I do buy throw away tools from them. But keepers, I shop elsewhere. I looked 7 corners, I like the prices. I'll do some reading about them. thanks guys.

Mine has been working for over a decade checking my 50,000+bd.ft. of wood. It's a mini Lingo costs around $100 and is a kind of standard for mositure meters (I see a lot of them) Buy it from www7corners hardware
Another vote for the mini-ligno. It's what I've got and what I see most around here. Works just great, it's accurate, small, and not complicated at all.
I picked mine up for about $100 a few years ago, and I think it's still about the same price.

Another vote for the mini ligno here.
If you are serious about doing home inspection work you should read some of the inspectors forums and see what other guys are using, and how they're using them. IMO you need both a pin AND a pinless meter, and you shouldn't be limiting them to just the crawl space.
Another vote for the mini ligno here, i have the E/D version very pleased with it.
