I have a question about moisture and new siding

I recently bought a house in Tennessee that is sided with 3/8 plywood over the studs and 1-1/2″ battens. What I would like to do is fit 1″ foil face styrofoam between battens (foil face out) and go over it with vinyl siding. Using the battens as nailers. What concerns is me is if I will create a moisture problem with the existing plywood under the foam or some other similar situation. Or if the foil facing can create enough heat behind the vinyl to effect it
