Monster Makita 16 Inch Circular Saw

I got my blade back from the sharpening guy today and started in on the 6×6’s.
I am integrating a retaining wall and basement stairs. Here are some pics of work on the first course. I will post more pics and descriptions later this week.

Cool, Brian. How's your arms after running a bunch of kerfs?
Spent the morning running a hammer drill and jack hammer and digging wet clay... so the saw felt light. ;o)
Hey, a fellow timberframer!
Seriously the blade you have is the standard high speed blade and will quickly get dull.. Invest in one of the carbide tooth ones available at 7 corners hardware if you do a lot of work with it.. the blade stays sharp nearly 10 times as long..

Ordered a carbide blade for it online, last Sat. (the day before I actually bought the saw). A Freud 16-5/16" 60 tooth carbide is on its way now. Didn't want to wait, so I had the steel blade sharpened for $15 locally.
Well good for you.. I went on line to check prices for you and found that neither 7 corners nor amazon sell them anymore (at least I couldn't find them).. So I went to
http://www.timberwooftools.com and found the price is up dramatically since I bought mine.. The 35 tooth carbide is now $150.00 (I paid $106) and the 60 tooth is $223.50
Have you been to that site? Some really cool tools for timberframing.. (it's where I bought a lot of mine)
Frenchy,I think this is the one I ordered:http://www.amazon.com/Freud-D1632X-16-Inch-General-Purpose/dp/B0002AJQQM/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt
timber[woof]tools does not work, try timberwolf. A sharp carbide blade and make sure the base is square front and rear to the blade and they work fine.
