I used the “money wall” idea in new construction. I wanted the service panel recessed so we could hide it.
Exactly how can you hide the electircal panel w/o failing final inspection. The picture is in our mud room. I wanted to put a window seat under the window and put in a cabinet for gloves and hat etc.
Example: could you hang a mirror over? or a cabinet that is easily removeable

Section 110.26 of the National Electric Code governs clearances around electrical panels. You might want to take a look at it.......I couldn't find a quick online link to it, sorry.

Don't hide it. It might be nice that your wife be able to find it when you accidentally grab that wire that you somehow can't let go of.
