sorry guys i was gone for the weekend. what you are looking at are the remains of the double sill of 5036 window. there were 10 rocks- -er, i mean 2 1/2 foot of rock lath. the other side of the opening had not yet rotted.. the sheet rock on the inside was a little soft. the homosote subsiding was wasted away . the redwood lap siding was undamaged. the ho is now looking out her new vinyl window and happy. the rocks have been added to her backyard collection...i replaced 10 windows and added 2 sliding doors in this house and there were no more surprises.paul.
