multiple trusses forming one roof line
Hello,
New to the forum. I used to be a framer, and have built 2 houses for myself to live in of the last decade. I am designing a third house to build and was wondering if this is a thing that is ‘done’.
Residence that is built in a monitor barn style, kind of. building 8′ wings on each side of a “main hall” that would have a 13′ wall height. Total width 45′. That way I could use 4:12 mono trusses on the wings, and a regular 4:12 (howe type) trussover the main hall. If the main truss has eaves, I could even tie all the trusses together.
I figure I could build a double wall between the sections, so the trusses sat on the walls in the normal fashion.
It sounds easier (for this 1.5 person crew), but don’t know if it would meet code, etc..
Thanks,
Jon
