Here are some pics of my first paying solo gig. Used to be an open niche, client wanted a cabinet to match existing ones in the room and shelves to be flush with the wall. They will be painting the insides of the shelves an accent color once she picks one. I’d have liked to close the doors for the pic but the paint wasn’t dry on them. Thank you FHB and all of you who contribute, your tips and tricks are greatly appreciated.

bob .... nice work... but hard to view...
get a free download like Irfanview and resize your pics to a max of about 100 kb
I hate saggy shelving. Yours are great! Even inside...

Looks good and welcome to Breaktime.

EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!
If the customer likes it that's all that matters. Hope no one notices you lost perspective of scale in the plinths, corner blocks and fluted moldings compared to existing.
It looks very nice. Well done.

Help me understand what you are looking at. It looks real good to me except for the gap next to the wall that isn't filled yet. I think it gave the fireplace a little bit of mass by tying in the smaller side cabinet.

U mean how me shrank them all 'cause they all went on a smaller piece?
aka ... making it look right?

I think the existing fireplace is under size for its own good, common mistake for designs like that, maybe a cost saving thing or that the original guy didn't know any better.
Matching the new cabinet with the same dimensions would only call more attention to it.
All in all I think he did a good job with scale. No one should regard themselve as "God's gift to man." But rather a mere man whos gifts are from God.
Looks real nice Bob and great JOB getting good Picts!!

Oh well, I am busy so cant complain.
Looks realy good, Bob.
One question: What did you do with the double gang receptacles? I don't see a junction box in the back of the cabinet. Were you able to pull the wire down to the crawl space or basement, and then run a new wire up to the new receptacle?
