This is essentially a scrapbook of my jobs (with an accompanying writeup on Gamble House and the significance of craftsmanship), that I could give as a gift, loan out, or take with me on initial calls.
I realize from discussing sales calls here at breaktime that I need a scrapbook to showcase my work. I have a website, but not everyone is able to access the internet while I’m there on a sales call.
I love this website (www.blurb.com), but won’t get too effusive until my book arrives (I ordered two copies), and I can see the quality in person.

The cost to make these is cheap enough that you could actually put one together for each job of any size, and leave a copy with the homeowner, and keep one for your sales library.
BTW, they let you set the price, so if you want you could make money, if you had a subject popular enough that people were willing to pay for.

Putting a book together for your client is a GREAT idea, I think.I got something like that with the first place I bought. A small folder with the history of the building and a bottle of champagne from the design/build group. And you know, that small gesture still sticks with me today.Flipped through the first 15 pages of yours, too. A nice, breezy marketing move on your part.'Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it' ~ Chinese proverb

My first thought was put a book together for each job - but then, after reflecting on it, I think its best to have your basic book with past projects. Then add a few pages with each new job as it finishes. You can just add, or delete something else if you have to. Then give client a copy, with their project in the book. That way they have a record of your work (your other projects) in their house. And they'll likely keep the book, because they're in it!
Maybe some bookmarkers in the book with your contact info. printed on them - that they could give out if a friend was interested.
Just thinking out loud.View Image "...craftsmanship is first & foremost an expression of the human spirit." - P. Korn
