Yup..resize..I am gettin there...
Burn it now.

YUP The ULTIMATE resize..a pile of ashes in the wind
Actually I think the roof has a lot of character. Maybe just remove everything added in the last 50 or 100 years and see what's left.
Sand blasting is an incredible mess & lasts forever. Every time the wind blows or you bang something with a hammer, sand comes from somewhere.
Joe H
I was gonna put a shed dormer across that South face..but have been convinced to leave the 3 dormers..the "trailer looking thing" is going..I will find out what works best for a porch. Messy sandbasting?? Roger that, but now I did find out that the Perma Chink folks have a corncob medium..and at 90$ a day to rent the hopper and hoses, I could do most of it in a day or 2..they have a place in Knoxville..Tn. Thats only 2 1/2 hrs. South. Now what to do where the addition roof meets the old one..looks like the whole addition is 4" too high..floors dont match up, roof is way off..someone cant read a tape measure..I noticed an extra cap block in the "new" part..that would explain it....I knew you weren't serious about burning it <g>
Just looking at the pics, I'm gonna guess that addition is probably too soggy to burn.

Looks like you got a good start on the back of the house...lol....not. Well all I can say is I hope the bones of the house are strong and that it has a solid foundation. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks Andy...It will be a blast..I just loved the look on the Realtors face when I said "SURE, it don't scare me.." I think he about died..been for sale and vacant 2 years and he was not even going to show it anymore..Now that is a job that I don't want!

Not sure if yer familiar with the house I bought a year ago here on Long Island in NY....circa:1680 on 2 acres, and I think it was ignored for the past 200 years..(and destroyed)..was on the market for over a year (in one of the best hoods in the country..heh heh) till the owner agreed to come down almost $200,000 when I called him and simply asked ....after I found out his last offer fell through "again"...the listing agent was thrilled and everyone wiped their hands clean of it and I wipe my entire body clean after my wife forces me into the shower every night after exhaustion.....labor of love dude...no other words could describe it.
I got yer back bro!
Stay in touch and take pic
BE well and have fun cause it is fun in spite of "anything"!
