We opened our kitchen wall to find…A Myers tee? Apparently this was also called an indirect waste line. A the top of a 2″ pipe is a cap with a vent pipe and a copper pipe. This was apparently dedicated for the dw and is a quieter solution to running the waste through the disposal unit.
Anyone heard of these? And which is better, dishwasher method or Myers Tee?

What is a Myers Tee. Google only led me to Fort Myers rentals.
I don't understand the arragnement. Where is the trap?
BTW, there is another option.
You can get sink tail pieces with a tap for the DW connection. That is what I have and I think that it better for the GD not to have the caustic DW detergent run through it.
I have the same question that Bill Hartmann has what is a meyers tee? What I get from your post is that you have a weird hook-up that I've never run into before. The rest of your post has a couple of answers,[depending on local codes], 1. you can run the line through a air-gap on the top of the sink into the GD, 2. you can run high loop without the air-gap into the GD. 3. You can run 1.+2. to a dishwasher tailpiece, [these must be installed before the trap] I would go with 3. Like I say this is local, all will work.
I have a question that I hope someone out there has an answer to. The type size that you see is as small as I can get it; no matter how many times I select size it always ends up this way, [I can go bigger but not smaller] this only happens on Breaktime, any ideas?
I have to close this browser and remember the thread number and open a different browser that will allow me to look at the actual HTML.But the problem is that you FONT IS WAY, WAY, WAY TOOOOOOOO SMALL.There was a recent thread in the tavern where I looked up some else that was having the same problem. It was showing a font size of ONE. All the other posters in that thread did not show a font size. They posted with the default font. Now there are a couple of things that control what how you see it.There at the bottom of each thread page there is an Adjust Font Size option. That controlls how YOU see the messages and not how they are posted. You might need to be in Advanced View for that feature to show up. The other is in the broswer setup there are option for the minimum font size to use for READING and also for where your browser will override the font size that the server sents, at least for Netscape/Mozilla browsers. Now I am guessing that you are using IE which allows for setting the font size in the messages that you post. Taunton treats those that don't use IE as 2nd class citizens so I don't know what that feature looks like. But try just use the DEFAULT value and not setting any font size.
This must be local jargon for an indirect disposal. There is about a 30" high waste pipe with a trap at the bottom(At the floor). At the top is a conical/reducer shaped fitting that has a 1/2 or 3/4 steel pipe exiting laterally for a vent. Directly in the top is where the waste drops into the waste pipe, so the conical cap must have a baffle to prevent waste blowing out the vent. I will try to post a photo."Democracy is when the people know exactly what they want, and get it good and hard." HL Mencken
Mystery solved. Its a "Johnson" tee, which is apparently quite ubiquitous!"Democracy is when the people know exactly what they want, and get it good and hard." HL Mencken
