I’m looking to buy a nail gun. Would like to know what your opinions are on the main ones like Bostitch, Paslode, Senco, etc.

Zorba- welcome to breaktime.
Those opinions have been hashed and rehashed dozens of times here. If you wanted to research them you could type 'nailgun' in the search function at the bottom of your screen and a slew of old posts will come up dealing with nailguns. You'll probably get tired trying to read them all.

The other...proper application of risk.
thanks rez, I should have done that before posting.
Na, there's always someone out there with some fresh data to share. :O)Half of good living is staying out of bad situations.

buy a good brand name.
you can get spare parts easily, i keep a rebuild kit in my van for all of my nailers
For framing Hitachi. Costs a little more but well worth it. For finish I have a fuel cell fired paslode for small jobs and a Porter Cable for larger jobs. If you are in the business consider buying both Paslodes(framer & finish) worth the weight in gold for small quick work when lugging compressor & hoses is too much aggravation for the amount of work to be done
Has anyone seen the new Senco combo---a finish pro 18 brad nailer and a tiny compressor and hose for about $200. I don't know if the compressor will run a bigger finish gun, but at about 25-30 lbs, it would be great for little trim and punchlist jobs. I just saw it this week and can't find it anywhere on the web--just wondering if anyone know about this compressor??
I got my dad the Porter-Cable finish gun and pancake combo. for $279, it isn't bad, and you get a finish gun, not a brad gun. I give it a thumbs up.
See what nails are available at your local yard. Buy the nailer that has the most available choice of nails. Around here,(Placer Co. Ca.) Senco is the standard. The price has come down because of all the competition. Bostich nails are junk. Their galvanized nails rust easily. Never buy bright finish nails because the slightest moisture will cause rust and stain the wood. Bostich finish nailers are gutless compared to Senco. I have a few Porter Cable nailers that are OK. They use Senco nails. I love my Porter Cable palm nailer. It comes with several tips for driving finish nails to spikes. I bought a Senco palm nailer and it didn't come with jack and the gasket leaked pretty bad out of the box.
I think I have used them all at one time or another. I highly recommend the Duo Fast brand nailer. They are the most dependable and the local service will fix them for free if they are not severely damaged. I've been using them for about 25 years. The other guns on the market are good but not as dependable as the Duo Fast.
I agree with getting a name brand gun. My tool repair guy said repairs are half the price and waiting time.
I was asking him about the new Max framing gun and he told me forget it, parts arent readily available.
I own two Bostich guns. A framer and a trim gun. No trouble with either.
I just bought off Ebay a Paslode BRAND NEW framing gun. I got it for a hundred bucks cheaper then H.D. I'd like to try it as a second gun when I dont wanna drag a hose around
Be shot

After much agonizing, I bought the Paslode PowerMaster Plus. I read a few very good reviews where they tested guns in engineered lumber, the Paslode performed very well. It was on sale at Nail Zone for $255, no tax or shipping either! I also got the T250-16 finish nail gun for $159, also highly rated in a few reviews. I settled on a Porter Cable oilless 3hp 4gal. compressor from Amazon for $249, again no shipping or tax! I really wanted the Thomas Renegade, but decided to buy the finish gun instead, there's never enough money!! I can't wait to smell that fresh sawn lumber!!
