When using the Bostitch MIIIFN nailer, which would be a better choice of “cleat nails” to use for nailing down 3/4 inch white oak hardwood flooring – 1 and 1/2 inch or 2 inch in length? The subfloor is new 3/4 inch plywood. Thanks.

I use 2" staples. Regardless of fastener. 1 1/2" is too short for 3/4" flooring due to the angle through the tongue.
Two inch is the way to go. Just did a big white oak job (Bella Wood) and I swear it looks a lot more like red oak than white oak. What brand you using?
Thanks for the reply. The white oak may not be my first choice but it will be the 3/4 inch thick wood. I'm looking at hickory and Chinese red oak as well as the white oak. I am trying to put something down that will be very adaptable colorwise to several interior schemes but I'm not doing very well at deciding. My house is very small (1100 sq. ft.) and whatever I put down in the living room I'd also like to put down in the dining area, hall, computer room, bedrooms, etc. One style/color of wood throughout the house will eliminate the "individual room" appearance, i.e., the smallness appearance. I build my own furniture and I like lots of wood colors - walnut, cherry, oak, hickory - but choosing one wood for all the floors is difficult.
Got the same nailer I use 2" for everything
