What is the proper nailing/fastening for where the common and hip rafters meet the ridge rafter? I can’t find a resource on the proper order of assembly or the nailing/fastening pattern. Do hangers/ties exist for this joint or does everyone just use nails?

'proper' is what works for you
I use a 2x ridge board.
The birds mouth ends are help in place by prenailed hurricane clips (like simpson H1).
What I do is set 2 opposite rafters roughly in place with 8d in one nail gun, then position the peaks and tack therafters in place at the peak with 8d thru the top edge into the ridge. Then I use a 2nd nail gun with 16d to toe nail the rafters to the ridge.
Others likely use different techniques.
IRC says to use 4 ea 16d, so the 8d 'tack in place' nail not required, but I find it much easier to hold the rafter in alignment that way.
