About now is the time when people who have decks should be getting them checked out to see what deterioration and damage happened over the winter. Later this summer we’ll see news stories again about parties where dozens of people go out on a deck, and it collapses. So, how do we get people to get their decks looked at and fixed up?

When their's collapses or rots past the point of no return. ;-)
Sorry... let's face it, preventive maintenance eludes most people... It's a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kinda world.
To my point, how many people actually get the timing belt changed in their cars when it gets high enough in mileage? Or better, just simple belts, hoses, spark plugs, plug wires, etc.
