Does anyone out there in web land know of a book or an information source that shows plans or techniques for working with copper?
Have a vintage home owner with a large radius turret that needs a new copper gutter. I have yet to see anything that shows a spec detail or install detail for a gutter like this (in copper).
Cheers

I'm assumming ogee style gutter is what you're after. There's two ways to do it. 1)Cut a bunch of small straight pieces with slight miters on each end and solder them together or 2) there's several fabricators that can make it in two pieces (the front ogee part and then the bottom and back). If I remember correctly, about 48" is the maximum length the curved pieces are available in.
I deal with a distributor (who buys from the fabricator and resells to me cheaper than I can buy from the fabricator and delivers the product for free - figure that out) so I can"t remember the name of the fabricator, but I'll check into it the next order I place (sometime this week).
If you want half round gutter, to the best of my knowledge, the only way to do it is method #1.
the ogee style would be perfect
i was actually wondering if i could fab some sort of ogee with my brake and patience
cheers

Yes but it would not be a smooth roll. It would be segmented..
Excellence is its own reward!
A large sheet metal shop may have the roll forming machinery to make gutter in various styles, depending in ...
I have used one in Maine I can give contact information for. They can work lengths of 8-10 feet.
I think that Lamb and Ritchie is the name of a national manufacturer of sheet metal products, including copper gutters and down spouts.
Doing this by hand would be extremely challenging and expensive.

Gee I thought challenge was what it was all about, and we can all eat the expense, YEAH RIGHT ! I think PruMetco handles Lamb & Ritchie. That's the only thing I miss about southern NE is immediate availability of speciality products.
I've gotten L&R from Vikings in Belfast - special order.
The custom fabrication shop is Hannel Bros or Hammel Bros. over in the twin cities - Lewiston/Auburn. Got a phone # if needed..

Thanks for the info I'll save that on backup disc.
