I’m going to be installing painted trim in a remodel and I want to pre-paint all the wood, hang it, then do touchups. Is there a good putty to use, or a good technique, to fill nail holes and paint over in such a situation without telegraphing the location of every nail??? To make matters worse, I’ll probably spray the paint originally and have to do touchups by brush, of course. Am I asking the impossible? If anyone wants to know why we’re not just painting the existing trim, it’s because it’s 30 yrs old, they want a different style, and they want to switch from mitered trim to plinth, rosette, and corner blocks. Any input would be much appreciated!
