Hello,
I need help figuring out what color to paint my shop floor. I am going to use regular concrete paint, not epoxy, because traffic is so low. I attached a few pictures of what I am working with. The goal of the paint is to lighten/brighten the shop. There is some burgondy trim on the cabinets and a cream that is on the walls and the main color of the cabinets. Is it usually a mistake to use the same color on the floor as you have on the walls?
Thanks

It's pretty subjective, but I wouldn't paint the walls and floor the same color simply because I wouldn't like the way it looked. You can't go wrong with gray since (like white and black) it goes with everything. Light gray for a brighter room, dark gray to hide dirt and scuff marks. I would use a medium gray.
If you generate sawdust, don't rule out epoxy. The finished thickness is a lot greater than paint and allows for much easier cleanup.
I'd paint it light gray, just because it's a traditional floor color. Must be some reason for it. Also, I'd get polyurethane floor paint if you aren't using epoxy. I've never seen latex concrete paint hold up. Alkyd floor paint is a step up from latex.
I'd paint it oil-spot and glue-spill paisley.
I think the beige will hide more dirt/dust color and appear cleaner, while also giving a warmer tone to the space.
follow up- paint type
I ended up using a light gray like you see in most shops. The important part of what i wanted to share was the paint type. I used Devran 224 which has been fantastic. Its strong and can be slopped on nice and heavy. It is super slick when wet with water so thing about the sand finish (they say it wears away). Do your best to fill all your cracks and pits before you paint. They trap dirt and stick out like a soar thumb after you paint.
