Hi my name is Deena and I am looking for someone in the Overland park Kansas area to build for me a wooden railing going down my basement stairs. I have a curved stairwell and I am having a hard time finding someone who can do this for me. Any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate all the help. Thanks.

Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

Their are a couple guys on here that are from Kansas, cant find their names in the drop down and I don't know where they are from Overland but maybe they can connect you to someone.
Bill Hartman and CAGIV if you can find their names and address a post to them it may help.
Doug
Thanks Doug. I will try looking them up tomorrow.
I am in the Blue Springs area. And I don't think that is something that I could handle and don't know anybody that does. But could you post a picture of the stairs or more details. It is a spiral staircase?
Deena - There's a fellow here by the name of Stan Foster (sp?) who does mostly spiral stairs. I am not sure where he is from, but he could probably help you out. Look in the "Photos" section. He did a set of cherry stairs not long ago and he also posted with another set of spiral stairs. He also plays with gyrocopters or some such contraption.
Good luck to you.
Don
Thanks for that information Don.

Stans in Ill. I dont think he travels that far, unless it's to take a ride in his gyro!
