This is actually a ‘Program’ for a Memorial service.
BIL died of a heart attack the other day. Wife’s closest bro and my main painter and a friend,so we are having the service at out place Saturday.
I have MS Word and Corel’s Word perfect, but darn if I know how to do what I want with it.
What we want to do is take a standard piece of paper and fold it over so you have like a greeting card, with pages 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Then print both sides….
I know how to do the text and insert photos and all that, but making that format set up is beyond me. I spent an hour or so in the help sections of both programs and see no clues.

That HP site was proving impossible on dial-up - too much on each page and some of them were demo movies...Aaaragjh!But I did download one sample card they had which was a PDF. Even tho I am not using that card, it demonstrated to me how it is formatted, so I think I'm a go. I figured this out just as I was reaching for the phone, but do have a layout in front of me now. Might still call later if I get hung up.For comment - and follow up - what I did was page setup - normal size page - landscape, and divide page in the middle. Now I see two distinct halves to work on

This might not be any better, but you might try this Microsoft link: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/results.aspx?qu=tri-fold&av=TPL000
I don't have Word, but I was able to download and open one of these templates using Open Office.
P.S. The template that I downloaded was about 800k, so the download may take quite a bit...

If you go to the Word Help feature, look up "booklet". It'll walk ya through. Here's what it says:
When you create a booklet, it's best to start with a new, blank document so that you have better control over the placement of text, graphics, and other elements. You can add a book fold to an existing document, but you may have to reposition some elements once the book fold is in place.
If your document is not set to landscape orientation, Microsoft Word sets it to landscape.
If you need even more space along the fold to accommodate binding, type or select the amount of space you want in the Gutter box.
If the number of pages in the document exceeds the number of pages you select for a booklet, Word prints the document as multiple booklets.
Hope that helps. My condolences.

Everything fits, until you put glue on it.
Thanks Mike and all, again.Who'da thunk 'booklet'?!!!
I like it.I managed to get the outside cover done the other way and it is printing a hundred copies while I put finishing touches on the inside two pages. I had to come back over here to rest a minute from the stress, and there's the answer. Maybe I should have taken a shower first while the brain trust ground out the answer. It would have been a bit easier.

No problem -- consider it a web-toast to your BIL, and your family. Again, sorry for your loss. May he be remembered well.Mike HennessyPittsburgh, PAEverything fits, until you put glue on it.
I'll probably post about that after an appropriate time. Some members of the family found out rather rudely when a ding-a-ling niece posted the event on her facebook page at 5:30AM the next morning, only 6-7 hours after he had passed and before necessary phone calls could be made.Imagine checking your favorite sites over morning coffee and finding out this sort of thing
