I was hoping someone would give me advice on installing a bathtub in a three wall alcove with no access from either side, or below. I am starting tomorow.

I'm guessing that by now you've already completed the install. I was going to say "Stay calm. Be patient. Triple check your measurements. Stay calm. Be patient. Yes, you will probably have to sacrifice some wall finish."

rich..were you the guy that updated me on tun installation? 27 years of hiring sucky plumbers and finaly I have it down,,Sick of paying MD prices to plumbers. Its just like everything else....logic
Andy,
I'm sure it wasn't me. I've never actually installed a tub! I've removed a couple of them and I am currently installing an ADA shower, so I extrapolated a bit!

So did you rip out the ceiling, or the walls, or both?!
If you haven't installed it yet, give us some more info. on the site conditions. When you say you do not have access to the bottom, does that mean there's a room below? If so, I see no other way that to open the cieling.
ok ok....I was wondering the same thing...27 years in this biz and the only tubs I installed was in new work where everything was accessable. I forget who told me how but....seems simple enough. The tub floor drain gets measured to where the tub hole comes up and set that..then also measure up to where the overflow (trip lever) comes up....set the tub over all that and use the givn screws to pull it all together. If your measurements arent good enough you'll have to pull the tub and reset the two drains (trip lever). Good luck....Hope it aint cast iron...if it is.measure three times.....well..measure three times anyway.
