Existing porch roof over stone patio (not yet installed). 21ft span and want to just support dead load on the ends with 6×6 posts. Porch roof is pitched (25 degree angle) and 8 ft deep. Can I do this?
Have 2, 2×8 wooden beams already supported on three 4x4x8 posts.
Can I add to the current beam and remove the center post?
Contractors have all given me different answers and way different estimates.

6 x 12
My software suggests a 6x12 #2 Doug Fir.
Thank you Mike!
So replace the 2 beams we have now with one 6x12? that spans they whole 21ft and support with 6x6 posts?

Depends on your local roof loading and other requirements that might be in your local codes. You haven't given us enough info to come up with an answer.
Yep, in terms of snow load you'd figure about 80 square feet (half the total area, since the other half bears on the house). If you're in snowy region east of the Great Lakes you could have 4 feet deep, 320 cubic feet, 4800 pounds bearing on that beam. That's a lot of load on a 21 foot beam.
