Someone at work is selling a grip-rite brand pneumatic single blow joist nailer (GRSB150). I have not heard of this brand before. I am not a pro builder, but have a 10 acre hobby farm and am always building or modifying something on weekends. I have plans for a couple hundred sq ft changes to a deck, a 200 sq ft addition, and re-framing parts of a shed roof on the barn. Who knows what else. I am not going to put a million nails through this thing, but I will put through a couple thousand and I don’t want something that will jam every dozen nails or crack open at the seams because it got dropped three feet onto the grass.
If anyone has had some experience with this brand I’d appreciate hearing about it.

I've seen them advertised, but don't have any hands on experience with Grip Rite tools. The biggest question is about the nails. Do they use proprietary nails or generic. If proprietary, a free gun might not be a bargain.
Where abouts in KY?

The nails are generic. They rebrand the generic with grip rite brand. i always wondered who makes their nailors.
Looks like they're owned by PrimeSource.http://www.quittintime.com/ View Image
Did you use your friend Google to find that out ??

"where in KY"
I live about 10 miles west of Paducah.
What I gather from the responses is that someone manufactures these guns for Grip-Rite and they are of tolerable quality for an occasional user. Zat right?
Thanks for the responses, everyone
Actually we would use the nails, but nobody has posted has used the guns, at least not yet.
yeh, but their nails are what is sold around here in PRO brand, which is an off brand that works well!
See, you friend google tells you all kinds of things.
I guess we are both out of the running on the march madness.

Yup - unless 'Nova wins. I was at the game the last time they won it.http://www.quittintime.com/ View Image
Wouldn't mind seeing that!
bought a grip rite 2inch brad nailer about 4 years ago. still going strong. uses any normal 18ga brad. has a somewhat odd trigger, but it was a good deal for me at the time. have since upgraded, but the grip rite lives and works for me at work.
Thanks, z.
