I have a 55 year old house with a basement, poured concrete walls, thin floor (an inch in some places with dirt showing thru where the floor has busted) and very uneven- as much as 4 inches difference in height. I want to pour another floor on top. Can I simply pour a pea gravel mix as if I were starting anew? The basement is otherwise dry and even temperatured year round. Pointers on keeping the pour level?

O sorry
If the old one heaves and moves around with water seasons then tear it out and put in gravel first with a sump or drain. if it is stable, go ahead and pour again.
