Jeff has a new toy......ahhh tool.
Looks good.
What camera did you get?View Image
Got the Nikon 5000.
reconditioned from http://www.thenikonmall.com
was $529 .... shipping included.
Looks to be everything I was hoping for.
Point and shoot's very easily ....
Gonna take some time to figure the other settings out .... then I gotta remember all that stuff I forgot about real photography .....
Looks to be as simple or complex as you'd like. I wanted something I could play with as a manual camera. The CD that comes with has a pretty nice photo program too.
I'll resist the urge to post every pic I take!
Priced it right into the job too .... so it is a tool!

Post all you want.
I just spent a few minutes staring at the maniflod...WOW!View Image
Ahh, Jeff, I think I should tell you that your sound wall probably isn't attenuating too much sound. Could maybe use a little more mass...
I thot it wasn't really cutting down the sound much yet!
Makes for a nice "airy" feeling though....

Jeff,
Why did you go with the staggered studs instead of the double wall with the air space or was it a matter of available space?
Nice clear shots btw.
Gabe
Pretty much space.
They have a ton of it down there.... but still want as much usable as possible.
The archy spec'd this design ..... the homeowner was trying to explain it on our first meeting and I had it sketched before he could finish the descrpition. Looke dlike we were on the same page.
I like the method. Works well enough ...simple to build.
Funy thing .... they have the best of everything in the "utilities room" that the sound wall is to hide..... everything's very ...very quiet. Not much sound to hide .....
So I'll look like one heck of a sound wall builder when it's all said and done!
Part of the sound wall has a built in nook .... for an audio/visual rack. It's a free standing unit for his custom rack system .... and infront of the same area I have to build an extra solid bulkhead ....so the drop down TV screen can hang on it ...
to transform the bar/kitchen area into a home movie theater.
I'm thinking his surround sound system would have no problem over coming the whisper of the water heaters....even w/o a sound wall.

Man Jeff, don't those studs make ALOT of noise when you pound on them?
Good shot, good camera, good setting
I have the old Nikon 990 and like it ALOT.
