I’m having a new concrete driveway poured today.
I do occaisional oil changes in the driveway and then we also have occasional parties on the drive as well. So, there’s a potential for some food/drink spillage and random oil and automotive fluid drips. Is there anything you all would suggest I could/should put on the new concrete for improved performance, durability, and/or stain resistance? And, no, I’m not going to acid stain it.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Cardboard.
Wait a few months before applying any paints or sealers to the concrete. It will peel off in spots as it cures and demoisturizes if applied sooner. Cardboard sounds good in the meantime. My uncle told me a trick of using kitty litter and then taking a brick and grinding the kitty litter into the oil stain. He says it gets it right out!

I used to clean up a tractor repair shop growing up... I did ALOT of the wood block and kitty litter scrub. And yes, it works great!Rebuilding my home in Cypress, CA

Let it cure for six months. Coat it with BOL (boiled linseed oil). I used half BOL and half mineral spirits. It darkens the concrete slightly. It lasted for seven years, then I moved. Good luck.
BLO? Never heard of that one.
Cardboard is of course a requirement when working on the car, but you know accidents happen and I was wondering if there was any kind of sealer to put down to reduce the possibility of staining.
I use siloxane on my concrete countertops and am wondering if I should use this on my driveway?
Frogskin or Professional water seal use with anti -skid
additive, both are silicone based sealants, Ive used
them both with great sucsess, wear good, fairley expensive,
they use them as a anti graffetiant, paint will not stick
to them after application, only apply to fully cured concrete
you need a sprayer with chemical resistant seals to install it
with plus a med.nap paint roller to back roll it with-pretty stinkey
stuff. Ive used it to protect the masonry a 200 year old church
that repaired about 10 years ago it is still beading up water .
A product you pick up at the conrete supply houses called CURE & SEAL. It comes in 5gal pails or 55gal drums.
stinks like the dickens. Put it down just after your done broom finishing or paddling. Soaks right in and thats the way it's designed.

Think Diamond Coat is the same thing. Makes the concrete look shiny, like a poly.
