All: I just turned on a new feature that allows you to access bookmarked forum discussions. You will see a link to this new feature in the box just below “My Inbox.” To make use of this feature, click on the “Bookmark This” link just below the first post in any thread to add this to your list of bookmarks. (see attached photo). If you’re the author of a post, check the “bookmark this” box when you create your post. That box is just below the window where you type your post. Once a thread has been bookmarked you can access it by clicking on “My Bookmarks” link in the left navigation. Lemme know if you have trouble with this. Matt Berger Taunton.com

Will this work similar to marking a topic as high interest if you want to sort them like the old setup? If so, this is a very good step. Find a way to Anti-bookmark topics and that can make unwanted topics disappear too.
It seems likely to be only semi-useful.
Yeah, I can bookmark threads when interested (like this thread), but it looks like I'll have to unbookmark threads when my interest wanes.
Another kludge workaround, IMO, for the loss of the features of the old ubb-style board.
Forgive me in advance for being a smart-a$$ but when your interest wanes do you expect the system to detect your disinterest and delete the bookmark on its own?
I didn't use bookmarks in the previous forum so I can't speak to how it differs. But I'd be happy to play around with this feature if you can elaborate.
In response to something that RJW said, Matt Berger said:

Well, forgive me too, cuz I'm about to gat all smart opn your ***.
No, none one expects the software to detect when we've lost interest. What we expect is what we formerly had.
The ability to look at threads that were BOTH of high interest, and which had new content.
Now, if your boss had decided to use ten year old forum software technology, we could do that. But as it stands, we can't.
Have a great day!

okay. Now we're getting somewhere. This is what I'll log in our bug tracking system, with one slight modification: The ability to filter the "discussions" list on the left to only show bookmarked posts with new comments.
To that end, what other filters should be added?

Could you explain what you mean in the above. Is this an attempt at fixing the New column on the left? The one that shows New when in fact the whole thread in most cases has already been read?
Or is this a change on top of fixing the New column on the left?
thanks.
Thanks, Matt. I'll give it a
Thanks, Matt. I'll give it a try.
Sure would be nice to have e-mail notifications working for everyone, though, and if the "x replies (y new)" feature were consistent.

OK, to a first approximation, bookmarks work. I made several, and clicked on one and it brought me to the right thread.
This should be very helpful, thanks. I'll keep you posted if I have any problems on down the line.

Thanks for trying it out Rebeccah.
We're a bit stumped on why email notification isn't working for some, but it is on investigate list.
Matt,
There is not a one of us here that is stumped.
Your boss chose to implement a change using a platform that is GARBAGE!!!
When will someone from Taunton come here and admit that??
It's been more than a month and all we have been fed is insults, promises, and more promises.
In the meanwhile. I am watching the population at BTC grow by the day.
What part of this is NOT working are you all having difficulty understanding??
Not exactly convenient having to scroll back up to the OP to bookmark... can't that option be in every post, or also in the last one?
Matt,
I appreciate you trying.

Paul,
There's another new feature, at least new to me. I had heard mentioned earlier that you could 'find' a posters activity list-where they had posted b/4-in their profile page. Whelp, it's right there in the profile page now-hadn't noticed it earlier.
Seems to be in chronological order, but if you've got some semblance of memory and want to hunt down posts you made an appearance in-best of luck. Better chance on recent posts.
The list goes back to the beginning of Prospero, interesting reading there.........
Edit: The list is chronological-that is-in your order of posting to it, not the thread date itself. Further, it takes you to the beginning of the original post, not your first reply to that post, so hunting you will go......
It is a New Feature however, something a person might find interest in.
cal, when I click on a thread listed under profile activity, nothing happens... does it take you on a trip down memory lane?
Calvin, is it working for you? I get an access denied using Google Chrome....
Matt...I feel for you bro..too bad there's not more of you. I have a feeling it may be a futile attempt being this format is horrible with whatever changes are made in it but at least you're trying.
Good luck dude! I'm pulling for ya!

I was able to open 3 threads the last from 6 months ago.
