I have just replaced the hollow cheap doors in the condo with rasied panel doors. Now the customer wants to replace the “front door” with a rased panel to match. However the “outside” needs to match the other condo doors in the main hall. I’m fairly sure the existing door is fire rated. I did think about using a 1 3/8″ thick raised panel door and adding a 3/8″ skin to the hall side to match. Would this be acceptable? Or can I get a one sided flat otherside raised panel fire rated door?

I live in a townhouse condo association and all outer doors must look alike. Yesterday, had installed raised panel doors for the interior. I'm postitive the new outer door must be fire rated according to the town, city rules. I would suggest the owner pay for the door when ordering, not you, as you may get stuck with the door if the association disapproves.
I would suggest the owner get a list of the approved doors for use by the association. usually they will note a manufacturer. But be sure to have the HO get the info in writing and provide you a copy of it. just in case.
