New internal door sill for step down to new addition to house

Hi,
I have added an enclosed room to the house which is a lower level, 1 step down, to the existing building. Entry to this room is through what was a cupboard. I have managed to find a couple of doors that will fill the space and will build in a door frame to suit. I have searched this forum which is where I usually find my answers to tricky questions but no luck this time.
My question is what to do at the bottom of the door. The floor boards extend to the edge of the step and as the old area will be carpeted I feel I need a door sill so the carpet has something to butt up to. What do you suggest re the type of timber I should use and what thickness should it be.
The 2 doors will swing opposite ways so one will be over the carpet. This may have a bearing on the height of the sill.
I look forward to your suggestions.

Freedom 13,
Can you post a photo of your doorway? This could kick off some brainstorming and suggestions.

You can make up a “stair or landing nosing” or find it at a good lumberyard.
Carpet would turn and tuck up to it, a lip would go over a kick board on the other side.
Any stainable hardwood will be fine. Many come prefinished from a stair parts dealer.
Some yards might have old style white oak thresholds available. Usually thicker and deeper. Would not be a smooth transition from carpet, it would sit higher unless you recessed it down into the subfloor.
Thanks tomeseno and Calvin for your swift responses.
Calvin your diagram has exactly what I was looking for. The thickness of the threshold where it meets the carpet. Also allowing for the bullnose of the threshold is something I had not thought of.
Thanks again.
Be wary of any doors that swing out over the stepdown. Code takes a dim look on this other than screen/storm doors.
Ktkcad, Thanks for your comment. It caused me to go and have another measure up and I think that I will be able to swing both doors inward over the carpet.
I have attached a picture of the step as it is at the moment with a temporary wall in place to keep the pets from taking over the house.
