If you need a new sidewinder allow me to sway you toward the new Makita magnesium saw. It’s the smartest saw I’ve seen in some time, and recently I’ve been through a few. The saw comes with a very intelligent case that has a storage spot for rip guide that is included. The table is very stable, and did not require any adjustment. Lastly, the bevel adjustment has a dial-a-degree knob that automatically stops the saw at 22.5, 45, and 56 degrees. It’s too bad this saw didn’t make it into the new tool guide.

I've seen that saw and reallly like what I see....haven't tried it yet.
your post leads me to think it would be nice to have latest tool review thread. Often a new tool comes out and have we go searching for a review or input on the tool. would be nice to have one place to look.
"It's the smartest saw I've seen in some time,"
Unless it can figure out the cuts needed for, say for stair stringers, it is not smart.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
