New Roof Install, NEED Second Opinion, Should we be Concerned?
Hello, First time poster here. My wife and I had a new roof installed and our main objective behind this post is to get a second opinion. Please review the attached photos that shows the gap in valley early in the install, to post install and finally the contractors attempt to correct our concern. Should we be concerned with the obvious gap at the bottom of our valley? Is it typical for this type void/opening to occur at roof valleys? My main concern is the active winter months…. we get lots of snow and ice accumulation from the gutter up in the valley. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it was our understanding that shingles should lay flat on the drip edge to help keep the moisture out. Thus, this is what has us worried. Description for attached phots are as followed: Roof0: Shows bare decking with gap clearly visible at valley bottom above the mitered gutter corner Roof1: Shows gap post roof install Roof2: Was captured during rainfall Roof3: Shows gap post roof install from further out Roof4: Roofing contractors attempt to fix/address our concern. (gap not as pronounced but still present) Any suggestions and or thought’s would be greatly apricated.

Hi there,
It sounds like you're facing a tough decision regarding your roof. Getting multiple quotes is a good start, but the price variations can be confusing. Color bond, cement tiles, and terracotta tiles all have different costs and benefits. Consider factors like durability, maintenance, and climate suitability. It might also be worth seeking additional quotes or opinions to ensure you're making an informed choice.
Hello. I have a roof valley that leaks quite badly and would love some advice on fixing this as I plan to have a go myself. Where is the water likely to be coming from and will it help if I replace the felt underneath on that section. Any advice would be most grateful. Thanks
