Just had company rep pitch his windows to me. I have researched wood and vinyl new construction windows for a couple of months and wanted to see one of the better vinyl windows, at least according to a variety of review forums online. Rep showed me top of line sample, called Restorations, that looked like a high quality window. But was told nobody buys those because too expensive. My research indicated 5 different levels of Sun**** windows, but rep said no, there is only Sun**** windows. Not certain where the sample he showed me fit into the product line, but never did see the actual window he would bid for me which was the only reason I was there. Was told professional installation was only available with purchase. I asked to see installation instructions, which seemed like a reasonable request. I was told that are none – a complete installation involved making sure window fit in rough opening, center it, nail it and apply flashing tape. That is it. He was installer so nothing was lost in translation. He is very busy, booked months in advance. Am I expecting too much?!

Are you looking at these?
The posted owners manual includes instructions to obtain installation instructions.

Seems like a good idea to use a level in there someplace, and at least shim the bottom.
There are customers who start asking such elementary processes that you have to create a whole presentation for it. It seems to me that you should not come with such a question to the salesman, but to the manufacturer. In the head office. And there to ask for window models, presentations and installation technologies. Let's say we work with https://revenuegrid.com/blog/sales-forecast/ and there are all the documents for the customers and for us. But I also wouldn't be able to give you an answer about the windows if my competence was limited only to their installation
I would expect even a salesman to have some knowledge. I mean if he was selling computers, he should know how to boot it up. Maybe he was new. Anyway, glad you got some information. I think I will agree with AlexJoe. When it comes time for me to get my windows, I'm heading to the manufacture.
