Hello all – I’ve been cleaning up and organizing my work trailer and figured I’d post a few pictures showing how it’s layed out. Better to do it right now cause the next job and it’ll be toast for sure.
Serioiusly though, I’ve almost got it as efficient as can be I think. It’s 5×10 Wells Cargo that I picked up used for about $1700. If hadn’t seen this one and got a good deal on it – I probably would have gotten something larger – but this one showed up and I’ve been making it work.
I stripped the luan interior and installed 3/4″ plywood on all of the walls, and built a 4×8 sheet goods rack on the left side that’ll hold 7-8″ of drywall/plywood, etc.
I built a rounded shelf in the Nosecone area for misc stuff and then added some shelving at the front and on the right side.
My Bosch tablesaw resides at the rear right on a Ridgid rolling stand, and the 12volt 10″ mitersaw is hanging above that.
Hanging on the side of the sheet goods rack is the Dewalt miter stand, broom, 2′ and 4′ saw guides + step ladders and sawhorses.
Having to cram so much into such a small space makes you figure out real quick what works and what doesn’t and this is probably my 10th version – always tweaking it.
The trailer is a 2001 – this last week I wire brushed the tounge and painted it silver and did the same to the wheels and rear jacks and painted them black.
My name is Julian Tracy, and I can’t seem to stop buying tools…

Yeah, well why would it be in there if he didn't need it ?;o)
The destination is not the point. The completion is not the point. Enjoy today. If you can't enjoy today, then what is the point ?
There's a few things I keep in there just to impress the ladies...JT

Looks nice, you've got to be a photo geek too, Not too many 18mm fisheye shots around here good angle, good light gives a great overall view.
Actually, 10mm on a reduced frame Dslr - equal to about a 16mm in 35mm format.JT
What do you tow with?Doncha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?
1998 Dodge 1500 4x4. The trailer's small enough that you almost don't feel it behind you - depending on how loaded it is.Had a job in one subdivision that was at a dead end - with no way to turn the trailer around. Ended up having to back the trailer down a long curvy sub block every day I was on the job.Ended up working at that house probably 30-50 days in all - got pretty good at backing up the trailer though.I have a couple of quads on a flatbed - so I'm no trailer virgin, but you can see above a flatbead, so an enclosed takes a little getting used to.JT
Film guy myself although bought a Nikon D70s to play around with and I like it just picked up a 16mm/2.8 couldv'e gone 10.5 with the digital though.
Anyway nice setup and hope your elec brakes are working,it looks heavy for its size.Land of the boring 4/12 hip roofs...

My head is so disorganized most of the time that if I don't keep my stuff in order everything will start un-raveling...The trailer might be smaller than it looks, cause if you don't keep it all tightly packed - it becomes one big mess quick.Plus - I'm a do-all kind of guy, so you never know what might come up in the course of a day or week.I'll take that as a compliment, thank you.JT
I can not believe how much you crammed into that trailer Julian...how many clowns do you have in the truck that pulls it?

Did you play a lot of Tetris as a kid to figure out how to fit all of that in there?

Is it normal to strip the luaan from sides to build shelveing or can a person just fasten thru tubing to hold shelves. I mean should one put plywood on sidewall first before installing sheleves.
You might at least remove some of it so you be certain of how the support or upright is designed and thusly what the best method of attachment for the shelving supports would be.JT
nice.
take the trailer home at night though.
left mine on the job and the lasp got cut.
lost 6 framing guns and 5 saws and one stabila level.
live and learn.
