Noise Control: Basement Ceiling, Already Installed Recessed Lights

Hey all! I’m finishing a large basement under a ranch and have framed, wired, and plumbed 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, an office, and a big open living room with a bar off it. Being a newish DIY’er I’ve made MANY missteps along the way, one of them being I just now started thinking about noise control. Both bedrooms downstairs will be occupied, so while I’m not looking for professional soundproofing, I’d like some level of control. Would like to not hear every footstep from the floor above while sleeping in the bedrooms below or working in the office…and not totally disturb everyone upstairs while singing in the shower or yelling at a stupid referee on TV… If we ever have live sports again 🙂
Anyway, my research tells me that using isolation clips and channels with double drywall & green glue is the best plan for the ceiling, but I’m just now discovering that any sound isolation I might have achieved via that plan would be pretty much defeated by the many 6″ new construction cans I already installed between the joists (with the hangers) and wired. Am I totally up a creek here? How bad would transmission be between floors because of that? I’ve got some slack in the wire at every can, so I could unwire and reposition them if there’s a creative solution. One thing I thought about was using wood strapping instead of channel and suspending the lights from that. Maybe some GG where each piece of 1×3 meets the joists for some separation? Then perhaps putty pads (I think that’s the term) on the back of the can lights?
I’m definitely not afraid of a little hard work (I’ve had to redo many parts of this project!), but I’d rather not completely scrap all these NC cans if possible. There’s a lot of them!

How are the cans rated?
Thanks for the reply! They're all listed as IC and airtight to 2.0 CFM if sealed at the ceiling. Is that what you meant?
So stuff rockwool in the cavity, including above those cans.
if you really want to go, get those isolation clips, and hang metal furring strips.
then you should be able to dis-assemble the recess can mounting from the floor joists above, and mount to short lengths of 2x whatever, which rests on and is screwed to the isolated furring strips.
(these would end up parallel to the floor joists, and be supported by the furring strips, and the isolation clips.)
This way, the cans are mounted to the isolated ceiling assembly, not the floor above.
The rock wool should help.
Just a thought.
Another thought is to think about your HVAC. would be a shame to spend all kinds of time and money to have the ductwork spoil your plans.
quick thought is to get rid of the cans and use the newer design led "can lights" that are basically flat and clip to the drywall - gets rid of the noise transmission and allows you to insulate better
