Non-bearing walls tied in to bearing walls
I am trying to figure out the best way to tie in the top plate of non-bearing walls into the bearing walls, where the plans call for leaving non-bearing walls short of the roof trusses. Plus if the non-bearing walls are shorter than bearing walls, what is the best method of drywall installation? I have some ideas, but interested in seeing if there is a consensus.

Typically only the outside walls of a trussed roof are bearing. we make interior walls the same height but don't nail them tightly to the trusses.
Use a 1x for the second top plate on the non bearing wall.
