The most common way to make your own parging mix is to use either Type S mortar for block or Type N for brick and add a concrete bonding additive.

we shoot the plate to the beam w/hilti gun , sounds like this.... PIIIIIIINNNGGGGGGG. one of the towns around here make us use treated agaist steel.
what are you trying to attach to the peppered joists? what ever you do , put some salt behind it.
is that hilti gun like a Powder actuated nailer or somthing special? have two walls i want to put up under I-Beams so buying a special gun might not be worth the investment. the other walls are not under I-beams they are under LVL floor joists but there are all types or pluming, conduit, wires ect. in the way of alowing me to attach the top of the wall to floor joist. i like to hear any solution for getting around them. i dont think salt will do it ;)
