Now I know why house prices are skyrocketing… MASSIVE overhead!!
The high-priced office staff; supervisors, managers, etc., etc., etc.; spend 75% of their time “in meetings”, instead of doing something productive. They seem to think that the way to make money is to have more meetings, rather than build houses.
I have spent the last 3 days trying to get in contact with the construction managers from a number of different builders. I have left voice messages, e-mails, you name it; no one ever seems to be “in”.
It’s just frustrating when you’re depending on them to keep you working, and they’re already into “party mode”.

Maybe when they are not "in" they are in the field checking on projects?
Nope.
Their cellphone voice message says that they will be "in meetings all day"
And the receptionist confirms that these people are "in meetings"
Whadda ya do?

It will get worse as we get closer to Christmas and New Years.
Send a fax. I find this an effective way to communicate. Call and make sure the company received the fax.
I have some success with email, but fax seems to work better. Not a fax that says "call me", but fully describes your situation.
At times, I have included "not so vailed" threats. Underlining, caps, creating bold text and using the color red is also effective when matters are URGENT.
Keep a copy and get / record the name of the person who verifies receipt. If no response in a day or two, send the same fax marked "COPY / ORIGINAL SENT 12/13/05 / CONFIRMED RECEIPT BY HELEN WAITE" , or whatever date and person applies.
Whadya do?Schedule a meeting with them
