Second or third time around with this post……had a cpl of guys come and speak with me but they realized where they were traveling from was way to long a ride.
Its about work on my circa:1680 house here in cold spring Harbor where all plans and permits are in place after much hassle.
Also a cpl of othe gigs in the same area but the biggie is this house…..a bunch of additions and restoration on the existing.
The rains put a damper…lol…on things so far but its gotta be a clear blue day sometime soon so if yer interested give me a shout. Rather get someone from BT then out of the newspaper..you guys are actually really interested in this kind of work rather then just being a laboror because they know nothing else……hence stolen tools.
Be well
Namaste

In his first interview since the stroke, Ram Dass, 66, spoke with great difficulty about how his brush with death has changed his ideas about aging, and how the recent loss of two old friends, Timothy Leary and Allen Ginsberg, has convinced him that now, more than ever, is the time to “Be Here Now.”

Andy,
Just curious how much progress you've made since I visited? Were it not for my upcoming wedding I'd volunteer to help, but right now life is hell. 28 days and counting. Too much to do, and too little time....

I forget what I was up to when you guys were here but in the bathroom I put up 3/4 in knotty pine wainscotting which I gave a lite orbital sanding to and filled in any holes. The thick funkyish works really well here. totally looks old yet fresh. Primed it with oil base Zinnser. Did a two layer base molding, installed that antique pine cabinet, plumbed in that above sink wash basin we had a potter throw for us in Vermont. Put extensions I made on the door and window then cased them out with sort of a thick three finger chair rail, extentions ontop of the wainscotting and a nice stock against the face of that.
Installed three really old looking sconces I got from that catologue called, Rejuvinations. Really interesting looking.
Then got sick for four days and took off a few here and there.
Starting a job in a cpl of days near here before I start ripping down that addition on this house and finsihing the bathroom....whewwww.
Might be done before I die....lol
BE well

Andy,
Yeah, and the list gets longer by the day. I'm just about done with my "outside" projects though, (I'll post pics when the grass starts to grow) so now I will be able to finally [re]turn my attention to the bathroom.
Sounds like you've been making good progress yourself. Too bad working (off site) is getting in the way of working on your house. But then we all need to pay our bills.

One of the things that sucks most is gathering up all my tools that are scattered all over the place and lug them all down a flight of stairs and into my van. They were all where I needed them while doing the batroom and laundry room next to it.....grrr
But the upside is at least I can get reorganized.
