I assume you used some sort of NC rig to cut that detail?
Howdy Dan, we used a plasma cutter to cut the plate into a tree. The leafs were all pressed and then welded in place. The plasma cutter is nice and has a short learning curve. Done by hand is hard to distinguish from CNC.
So you just drew the design on the plate and followed the lines with the cutter?
Yes, just draw it out and blow out the lines..out pops a tree, then weld the trees to the gate frame and weld each leaf on, sand blast and spray.
It's a lot of detail work but it always pays off. Painting them takes about as long as building them. Because of all the detail, it can be easy to miss a spot. So looking to powder coat them now.
