I have a 5 year old unit(Burnam), when it fires up the gun is noisy, when the fan turns on it is very very noisy. I had the oil company clean the unit and discussed the noise with them. They had no suggestions regarding fan speed or duct changes. I’ve placed heavy tiles on any sheet metal surfaces I can access(in the basement). This damped it slightly. The old furnace was quieter. Does anyone know where I can get insulation board to put inside the plentum? – is this a good idea? Any suggestions on how to quiet the unit without changing fan speeds?
