Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

Need a bid? Let me take a few measurements with my handy tape measure, and write some information down on my handy clipboard notepad, with my handy pencil. Is my bid too high? Let me sharpen my pencil right up with my handy utility knife and see if I can't do a little better than that! I'll call you right back with that revised bid! Nice idea Huck!
But I think you should round the edges with a 1/4" router bit for that final finish look.

you should enter this in the FWW box contest - http://finewoodworking.taunton.com/share/gallery?contest=44then we can all go over there and give it a 'thumbs up' so it appears among the 'most recommended' - drive those tea drinkers nuts - - "there's enough for everyone"

What kind of hammer is that in the photo? I've got one like it circa 1978 or so, but since I won it at a fire dept bingo night when I was a kid, I've got no clue what kind it is. Fiberglass shaft? True Temper maybe?

I'd bet that is a Plumb, circa '80's..I had one, loaned it to a wannabe roofer for a job ( yeah, I hired a guy with no hammer) and it walked.

I went down to the lobby
To make a small call out.
A pretty dancing girl was there,
And she began to shout,
"Go on back to see the gypsy.
He can move you from the rear,
Drive you from your fear,
Bring you through the mirror.
He did it in Las Vegas,
And he can do it here."

What amazes me is that your old F150 has an interior passenger door handle. You obviously drive mostly by yourself. Got one on your side? I got sick of constantly replacing mine and just opened it by reaching out the window to the outside. Now that's great advertising. I'm very happy to say I don't have that truck any more. j

Hahaha. I've replaced both sides. The driver side I had welded reinforcement, it works great. The passenger side I just replaced, and it barely works. Need to look up that welder who did the other side!"...craftsmanship is first & foremost an expression of the human spirit." - P. Korn

That's very cool!
I want one!
How about the rattle-factor? That RubberMaid shelf liner stuff in the bottom of each compartment would take care of that.
Also, I'd want a little padding for my elbow for those longer trips. Perhaps a piece of carpet with some shelf liner underneath. Wait! How about just a mouse pad? (Not glued down, of course.)
Nice work.
I like it but i still wood spill my cawffee.
By the way on another forum a guy wrote this, I thought about you cause he lives in Bakersville
One better sign, however, is that the illegal alien wielding lowballer contractor that swept the town in 2004 just filed chapter 7. The bigger truck theory disproven once again. Too bad he starved out all the legit locals in the meanwhile. He wasn't leavin until the residential nc volume dropped 95% and exposed his business model though, so maybe this slowdown will have a silver lining down the road soon. Or maybe ten more jackaxxes of the same ilk will just take his place. We'll see.
That there is pretty funny. Problem is that its not just one guy, there's 50 lowball bootleg unlicensed contractors with a cash-under-the-table workforce for every 1 legit guy.
They just ran a sting and rounded up a bunch of unlicensed contractors. That should help. Kinda like saying "I just stepped on a bunch of ants, so we shouldn't have any more ant problems for awhile" Hahahaha."...craftsmanship is first & foremost an expression of the human spirit." - P. Korn

They had a lay off at the mill here, That means 100 guys with pickups doing side jobs. cant blame people for survival but it puts pressure on guys with lic and insurance.
