Good heavens, I have one almost exactly like that in my bedroom right now. There is one switch to run the three "outrigger lights", just an on/off toggle switch. The central light is a trilight. Mine, and possibly yours by the look of it, uses the larger base bulbs; I'm gonna convert mine to the standard base one of these days.
I'm not sure what your problem is; I'll check later, cause it's time to take a 3yr old to her swimming lessons.
