Doing a cosmetic make-over in the bathroms of a 1920’s house. All three have sheet vinyl on the floor now. Pulled up the vinyl in the powder room, found the original oak floor and a piece of ply around the commode. Wasn’t too bad cuz they nailed masonite down first, then glued the vinyl to the masonite.
Pulled up parts of the vinyl in the upstairs bath, and uncovered the original tile … see attached pic. The border is nice, but who would have selected the field tiles? The HO wanted to expose the floor tile, then make a decision as to whether or not to keep it … that decision took about 2 seconds.
Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell’em “Certainly, I can!” Then get busy and find out how to do it. T. Roosevelt

That has to have been added later on............doesn't match at all! They left the border and replaced the field.
But.......who knows what someone was thinking.
