I put in a bunch of new pocket replacement windows this past fall, and as a result I’ve got a whole bunch of old single-glazed sash. Some of the glass is nice, wavy stuff, but most is just boring and clear. Any ideas as to what to do with the sash, besides breaking it up, keeping the glass (or at least the interesting glass), and burning the wood?
Incedentally, good thing custom sizes were no extra money – in a bank of four visually itentical windows, all four were slightly different sizes. Stupid old house! If the place had some character I could smile about things like that, but, jeez, some of our remaining old windows actually have plexiglass glazing instead of real glass.

See if a antique refinisher would like them, when I refinish a piece and their is a lite missing I always look for old glass to replace it with. Looks more authentic.

Put mirrors in the panes and sell them at craft shows - I've seen them fetch big bucks there. Sell the wavy glass to an antique restoration person.
Just a thought. Rich.
Each piece is one big sheet of glass - no little lites.
I like the coffee table idea!

Although multi pane sash is cooler, a wavy single pane sash can make a nice coffee table. After you attatch the legs(and lower shelf if you want) you put a heavy piece of glass on top and you can display stuff in between(if you like). Did one for a friend and all thier friends keep raving abought it. Even better, Martha Stewart dosent get to take the credit
