Somebody was asking about this technique/style a few months back…
We used 4×4 rough cut spruce to frame, shiplap pine for sheathing and 1″ htermax on outer wall before rainscreening the clapboards. 2″ of Dow blue foam on roof above shiplap, then OSB and tech shingles.

Speaking of the pond...
this one's got a tide.
One of the nice things about this job was the location - Nice view, seabreeze, half mile from my house, brag, brag, brag...
;).

Nice. Very nice. Just out of curiosity how is it wired? I didn't see any receptacles, switches, etc. I'm not quite sure how I would wire such a building and keep it consistent with the look.
Good question 4lorn1......... ask PiffinBob

Very impressive...when you say "we," what exactly was your contribution to this project? Camping should be so tough:) It's okay, I can fix it!
WE
I had a crew of three, plus me, to erect the main building and close it in. Then we went to do a big job for nine months while the owner did his electrical and plumbing. The crew was on another job yet while I finished the wainscoting and kitchen with one helper. The wing addition on the south side is something I did alone this summer. There is another thread here about the accessory building that goes with this that was done mostly by a two man crew with minimal supervision from me last year.
This was done in stages to fit into my schedule for larger work and the owners schedule for having funds available. It worked good for both of us. A good example of working together, communicating and using patience with your contractor to get a good job..

Wiring - You can see a little bit of the wainscoting we ran to about 42"H in beaded board. This space is also insulated with fibreglas. To the left of the sliding glas door is a piece of conduit for the exterior light. A partition wall is done in beaded board to contain wirting and plumbing. A closet contains some runs also.
attach 49 shows back side of part of it
Shot from same spot and looking up is the bathroom ceiling and one of the lights there in attach 50.

Piffin,
Where abouts is this? I'm so jealous!.....By the way, what are property values like?....don't tell me 1M for a lot!Ditch
This is on Islesboro, Maine.
Lots like this are in short supply and will run from 250,000 up to over a million. There is one left with deep water frontage on the best area for almost 2M.

Well, I could afford the 250K lot.... if I sold everything I had. I would then have to die and be reincarnated in order to build a house worthy of the views.Ditch
Where is this piffin? VERY nice!
