Wondering if anybody has used the new Bosch Multi X. Was considering buying a Fein Mulimaster to use on an upcoming renovation job, but then recently saw these in a McFeely’s catalogue. Like the cordless aspect, but is there gonna be enough power on just a 12V lithium-ion battery? Whadya think?

Read the reviews on Amazon. The batteries are good for five minutes, but then they can't be recharged right away because they are too hot. One reviewer wrote that the first time he used it, the plastic tabs that hold the battery in broke from the vibration.
Other than that, people seem to like it. I think it would be fine for occasional use, but not for a continuous job.
If the price were right, I would buy one for quick jobs where I don't feel like hooking up an extension for my MM.
I'm guessing that the guy who broke the tabs maybe could have used a poor technique, such as forcing the blade.
You mean the batteries went for five minutes and then needed recharging? That's not a good sign.
I've had one a couple of months, but not a lot of continuous use.
I have not used it to cut anything for more than 5 minutes or so, and it has worked fine.
My cousin was using it to detail sand and he was disappointed in the battery duration, so the comments by others must have some merrit.

Small wheel turn by the fire and rod, big wheel turn by the grace of god.
I recently purchased the fien
its not the sort of thing that I ever thought I would buy. I love it. I am impressed
the best thing is I can cut anything inside of a finished house with none or little dust
I've had my Fein MM for over 6 years and only recently started using it for cutting drywall cut-outs and watch patches.Holy Cow - that works great! If that was all I ever did with it it'd be worth it.Perfect, square remodel box installs. Easy plumbing/electrical access holes in ceilings, etc.As for the cordless duration - who cares - unless you are sanding or removing grout - most multi-master uses are quick cut jobs, jamb trims, detail work.I plan on getting one of the Bosch cordless ones just cause I already have the driver/angle driver and flashlight and 4 batteries. The dremel blades at Lowes are not too shabby - especially at $10-15 each. They fit the original Multimaster.A LOT of folks complain about blade slippage on the older multi-masters - I do not have much problem with that. Leads me to think that they might not be using the correct screw/washer combo. There are two types, depending on the style of blade.JT
