Our new dog house

jes82677 | Posted in Photo Gallery on February 25, 2006 04:22am

Here are some pics of a new kennel we just built in CT. The dogs are living in luxury here. Radiant heat, A/C, automatic waterers, central stereo, cultured stone veneer on the ext. and much more.

Labs are great dogs also, my BIL has one and she's a good dog.

I have four beagles, one girl named lady, three boys named busta, fat-boy and busta_duke and they all have tic in them, great rabbit dogs. Tallest one is 11 1/2" high at the head.

We train and board all breeds of dogs at the kennel. But our three girls happen to be labs and they are our favorite.

Wow that first pick of the dog covered in snow is awesome, that dog is looking at you and waiting for you to tell it what to do.

      Very nice, thanks for sharing.

I see you have hardly finished and there are tenants allready!!

I enjoyed the pics of the radiant tubing, and the woof too! (roof) Tell us about how the roof was done if you can. Maybe some close ups?

      What's the upstairs like?

The dog on the roof is woven into the roof. There are two layers in places and the profile was cut out from there. I used graph paper to draw the dog and then used the grid as my scale. I the proceeded to mark out some strategic points and sketch the rest form there. As a little insurance, that whole area is ice and water sheild, and all the cut edges are sealed with polyurethane caulk. The second floor is unfinished right now. It is going to be the office and inside training area. I plan to do a built in desk and cabinets out of lyptus wood up there.

I love my dogs, 2 ten month old labs(1 red, 1 brown), and 7 yr old GSP. But there is NNOOOOO WAY I going to put radiant inthe kennel! If I don't get it ,they don't get it:) Any way that is a very nice facility for board and train. I am jealous! One more thing, one of the labs wont retrieve(not kiddin). Did not think I would ever have to force fetch a lab!

    1. nailbanger | Feb 28, 2006 01:41am | #13

Labs, what awesome dogs! They are just so full of pizz & vinegar and so eager to please!! I currently have a Lab-Golden Retriever cross (one of three dogs in the house right now) and when she was young she wouldn't retrieve anything! She'd chase the ball when I threw it, pick it up, look at me and spit it back out then walk back to me without it! I was fit to be tied! How could a cross between two of the best retrieving breeds out there be so lame at fetching?? Then one day, when she was about two, she just started retrieving! It was as if a switch had been thrown somewhere and her retriever genes had turned on. Now, she would rather retrieve something than eat. I honestly believe that she would go untill she had heart failure if I let her. There's hope for yours yet.

I love it!  Especially the dog weave in the roofing shingles.  Good job!
